The Power of 3 uses a unique, simple system that combines goal setting and execution with reflection. It is designed to be a continuous process to keep you focussed on what is most important. By sticking to this system you be amazed at what you can achieve.
Before we set individual goals we use the Yearly Focus page to help think about what is important to you. Use this page to think of big dreams and ambitions. By writing about what you can and cannot control, it helps to create goals that are ambitious yet achievable.
After completing the Yearly Focus, you can now complete your first 3-month Goal Planner page. On this page, highlight a specific goal and break it down to 3 individual milestones. Each milestone has 3 tasks with a deadline to complete it.
To make sure this goal is relevant it's important to write down how it will help you. In order to know when you complete it, it needs a specific way of measuring.
After the goals are set the next pages of the planner are used for both executing on these goals whilst also serving as a planner to help you organise your life. First, the Monthly Planner sets out a month view. This enables you to put in any events of the month as well as specific tasks to achieve.
The Weekly Planner lays out a day by day view or your week. Add in tasks and your To Do list and any notes.
A fundamental part of the Power of 3 technique is reflection and migration.
The reflection pages at the end of each 3 month period, and at the end of the year, give you an opportunity to look back and assess the period. You can then migrate forward any goals that are still important and leave behind any which are not. This is a key opportunity to renew your focus on what is important to you.
